Amelia Baker is a fiddle player, guitarist, singer, and songwriter originally from California. Amelia’s music developed in the DIY folk-punk scene in Santa Cruz, CA from which she toured and recorded with Blackbird Raum and Gembrokers.

Amelia currently writes, records, and performs as Cinder Well, both solo and in collaboration with notable folk musicians from the Pacific Northwest and Europe. Cinder Well's most recent album,
The Unconscious Echo, landed as one of Folk Radio UK's Best Albums of 2018. "This is a folk record that's heavy in all the right ways" (Stephen Hunt, fRoots Magazine). Amelia has toured extensively in the US, Europe, UK, and Ireland, and has shared the stage with folk and punk luminaries including Lankum, Stick in the Wheel, Ye Vagabonds, Gwenifer Raymond, Anti-Flag, and Subhumans.

Amelia’s fiddle playing is inventive and song-like, rooted in Irish and Old time traditions, and her own instincts for composition. Amelia recently completed a Masters Degree in Irish Traditional Music Performance at the Irish World Academy at the University of Limerick  where she studied with Siobhan Peoples, Kevin Burke, Martin Hayes, and other masters of traditional music. During the course she researched connections between Irish and Old time traditions with a focus on repertoire and style. Amelia is currently based in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland where she performs and teaches.
